The city of Lake Park is participating in Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Community and Economic Development (CED) unit’s Rural Housing Readiness Assessment (RHRA) Program. A local housing steering committee will be participating in an educational session and a strategic planning session with CED specialists to create a vision and an action plan to address housing needs in Lake Park.
Gathering your input is an important part of this process your and ideas about housing needs are valuable to the Lake Park housing steering committee, so we are inviting you to take a few minutes to complete a brief online survey.

The Lake Park Police Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Salary will be dependent on qualifications.
Officer minimum requirements:
- 21 years of age at time of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vision with no less than 20/100 in each eye correctable to 20/20
- Citizen of the United States
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Be of good moral character
- Have not been convicted of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude or domestic violence
ILEA certified officers are preferred, but not required. Candidates who are ILEA certified peace officers will not be required to complete the POST or physical fitness testing. All other applicants will be required to meet the standards set forth by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy including the physical fitness and POST testing.

69.10 SNOW REMOVAL. Between November 1 and April 1 no vehicle shall be left standing or parked on the City streets of the City between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on any day. At all other hours during such period, on-street parking shall be permitted only when the same does not interfere with the removal of snow and ice from City streets, and vehicles so parked shall be removed from the street by their owners within 15 minutes of demand made by an authorized City employee for such removal. After such notice, it shall be unlawful to park on such streets until the snow removal operation is completed in the area involved. For a violation of the provisions of this section, the fine shall be $25.00 for the first offense, and $50.00 for a subsequent offense, notwithstanding the provisions of Section 70.03.
